I am proud as Hong Kongers because of you!
Hong Kongers Cheer Up! Through this event, we would like to recall there are many freedom fighters from PolyU, CUHK and different sectors have devoted themselves to Hong Kong. Under the National Security Law, totalitarianism enveloped Hong Kong. Hong Kong is suffocated by police violence and destructed rule of law. We hope more and more people could witness these unforgettable traumatic sequelae in Hong Kong’s history. Also at the same time, to encourage people who are still staying in Hong Kong, that we are standing with you all the time. Reunion may anytime soon. i. we are and we will always be connected. ii. the "blood of HKers" runs through our veins |

2nd Anniversary of PolyU & CUHK Siege Opening Speech
Today we have gathered here to remember the pain the government of Hong Kong and China inflicted on us in November 2019, while our brothers and sisters simply asked for the rights and freedoms promised to us in the basic law, our mini constitution.
Today we remember and stand in solidarity with those arrested, imprisoned, silenced, and harassed ,for simply voicing their wish for freedom in Hong Kong.
Under the British rule Hong Kong flourished, critical thinking was encouraged, people were free and stood tall among other free nations.
Now, under the iron fist of Beijing, NGOs are fleeing, human rights are out of the window, people are forced to pledge allegiance to the Communist Party of China and many of us are exiled.
Protests and vigils are banned. Any critical thoughts and views are scrutinised under the National Security Law.
We would like to draw global attention to our current plight.
We simply want to have a say in how our hometown is run and how we live our own lives. It’s really that simple.
But Beijing wants to control what we say and even what we think. Today here we say Big Loud No to Beijing and Carrie Lam.
Our struggle continues until Hong Kong is free again from dictatorship.
We stand with our brothers and sisters imprisoned, silenced and harassed in Hong Kong.
May our reunion come soon.
I hope to take one minute before our event to remembrance the devotees and victims who died in the First and Second World Wars.
At the same time, today is also the remembrance of the Battle of Hong Kong in 1941. We thank you for the British and Canadian soldiers who took part in the defence of Hong Kong and paid for their precious lives.
We thank you for every Hong Kong citizen who fought for Hong Kong, especially those in custody. The students and protesters of Chinese University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University that took place in November two years ago were greatly stressed and psychologically affected. Their ideas should not be discredited. Resistance is their natural response. We thank you for their selfless sacrifice and will never forget each of the protesters who suffered, suppressed, and faced lawsuits and imprisonment for Hong Kong.
Let's join us in one minute to close your eyes and remember them and send our deepest respect.
